I’m going to show you how to use Amazon to find the most passionate people in your niche.
These people are probably already buying products and services in your niche, so you can target them with your Facebook ads.
When you use Facebook ads, you’re probably trying to get people to do something so you can build your email list, drive leads, or drive direct sales.
The way to do that is to get your message in front of people who are most likely to take action, the action that you want.
That might be them giving you their email, them buying a product, or something else, but you want to get your message in front of the people that are most passionate and most likely to take action. I’m going to show you how to do that using Amazon.
Step 1 is to go to Amazon and type in “best sellers” in the search bar.
Then you want to click on “best sellers” books. Notice that down the left-hand side, Amazon breaks it down into categories, and I can click “see more” to see even more.
I’m going to pick a big one to start. I’m going to go to “Health, Fitness, and Dieting”. You’ll notice that Amazon breaks it down even further into sub-categories, so I can get detailed about where I’m targeting and what I’m looking for.
In this case, I’m going to select “Diets and Weight Loss”. Then, in the “Sort By” drop-down menu, you want to select “most reviews”.
You want the books that people are buying the most of and reviewing the most of. You can see how the top one has over 5000 reviews. It’s by Dr. William Davis. It’s called, “Wheat Belly.”
Once I have an interest keyword in mind, I would go to the Facebook ads manager and type in “Wheat Belly”.
That term shows up and also the author of the book shows up. Facebook’s smart.
They know what I’m looking for, and I just found myself a pretty good interest. It’s probably people that have either purchased the book or visited the website, so it’s a very targeted, passionate interest that I found using Amazon.
Once I’ve done that, now Facebook’s giving me some really good other interests that I may not have known about before.
For instance, “Mark’s Daily Apple”.
Got no clue what that is, but if I search it, I see that it’s a website on health, nutrition, fitness, the health industry, low carb, paleo, and the primal lifestyle
You can also look at the authors of the books.
For example, the second book most reviewed the book in this part of Amazon is called, “Grain Brain” by David Perlmutter.
There’re two interests listed on Facebook for this guy so that I can target the author of the book as an interest.
Again, what you’re doing is finding people who are passionate about an interest.
People that have this interest are probably buyers of this author’s books or they visit the website, which means that they’re passionate people on a particular topic.
If we go out of the specific subcategory on Amazon and back to the general “books” label, we can try another type of subcategory.
Let’s go to “see more”, then to “Cookbooks, Food, and Wine,” then to “Desserts.”
Something specific. The top result is called, “The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook.”
I guess it’s a book about desserts, or maybe just cooking in general. If I enter that search word in Facebook ads manager, I can see that as an interest and Facebook also giving me some cool interests, I didn’t know about before.
If I look at authors instead of titles, I might find more interests.
This next book is by someone named Trisha Yearwood who seems to have a pretty big following, but it looks like she’s a country singer, so I may not want to want to target that because it’s too specific.
So basically, you can use Amazon to look at any category and to break it down to find interests that go with your niche.
This is going to allow you to find the people in your audience that are most passionate.
Give this a try and let me know how it goes and let me know if you start finding some Facebook interests that you didn’t previously know about.
When you find an interest, you find people who have already taken action related to your topic.
Or you can create an Amazon affiliate site and grow an online business via Facebook ads.
